Been trying to fix my trusty 15yr old Panasonic projector (PT-AE 900) but now after removing a heat sink, I guess this is likely it :-/ not sure if I should hunt for a donor system. This is one of the three LCD driver chips, and looks like it’s fried from inside. Opinions , tips how one could find spare parts more than welcome.

What do you know. I managed to FIX the fried chip by sanding it down and resoldering the burnt joints. Feels so great to have it working again :-D

Final result, working like new :-) (taken just before reassembly / heat sink et all). I could not have hoped for a better result.

Testing the fixed projector in style :-) pop quiz, what am I hacking :-) ?
