To accompany this essay, the New York City-based web artist Yehwan Song, 30, created a series of pieces exclusively for T, including “Edge of Tips” (2025), above. In making them, she thought about “how women’s voices — and appearances — are shaped or constrained by digital spaces,” she says. “Each of the graphics I created captures moments of interaction, either through my own gestures or the posture of engaging with a device. The typography plays into that as well: It’s strong, clear and it speaks on its own, while the gestures suggest the tension between expression and restraint.”
