Recalcitrant Fashionista<p>Because there may be a few <a href="https://plaid.boxpleats.com/tags/vintage" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vintage</span></a> computer nerds here 😄, here's a story of how <a href="https://plaid.boxpleats.com/tags/BBC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BBC</span></a> <a href="https://plaid.boxpleats.com/tags/Wales" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Wales</span></a> handled the decision, for the 40th anniversary of <a href="https://plaid.boxpleats.com/tags/Eastenders" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Eastenders</span></a> earlier this year, to show the BBC1 globe ident as broadcast in 1985.</p><p>Instead of simply using a recording of the ident (which was only on screen for a few seconds) as other regions did, they instead managed to dust off & use the original signal generation hardware that had been sitting in a basement corner!</p><p><a href="https://www.tvbeurope.com/live-production/how-bbc-wales-returned-live-to-1985" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">tvbeurope.com/live-production/</span><span class="invisible">how-bbc-wales-returned-live-to-1985</span></a></p><p><a href="https://plaid.boxpleats.com/tags/TV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TV</span></a></p>
