If you play modern PC games on a CRT monitor, @rootcompute runs a Steam Curator group called 'Does It 4:3?' (I'm a member!) with reviews and information regarding how well newer games support 4:3 resolutions.

Check it out and join up: store.steampowered.com/curator

Also, there's a submission form for guest reviews to help contribute here: app.formly.so/f/urPmfA

store.steampowered.comSteam Curator: Does it 4:3?Does it 4:3? is a Steam Curator for newer or less obvious games that look good on older CRT and LCD monitors with screen resolutions of 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, etc

Monitor arrived. LED lights up, there's high voltage (I can feel some static electricity close to the screen with my hand when I switch it on) but no image/raster whatsoever even when I feed it a composite signal from my Apple IIe. Maybe the tube is so tired that it can't display anything or something else is broken. Going to look inside (safely) in a couple of days to see if it's anything obvious. The thing is over 40 years old so any number of things could be dead. Hoping it's not the flyback.

If it's just the tube, then we'll see about a tube swap eventually.

My newly dual-headed Atari 520ST system.

I've had this 520STm 4MB color setup for some years now, but recently expanded it, as I had long been wanting to.

I've just added an SM124 (very sharp) monochrome 72Hz 640x400 display (switching between it and the SC1224 RGB display with a MonitorMaster switchbox that I acquired new about 10 years ago for this eventual purpose). I also have just added an ACSI2STM SD card-based HD emulator.

The stand is an A520 STation, which is a fairly rare item (I've never seen another in use).

They call it VecShelf, I call it Shelftrex. That's a thing, seemingly. It's basically a small piece of wood you put onto your Vectrex to but other stuff on top. Well, lightweight things, of course, not a Trinitron CRT or anything like that. Stumbled over it on the electronic bay and the description made me smile. Let me paraphrase: This is pretty unnecessary. You don't need this. Your life will not get better when you buy this. Well, somehow I disagree ... but nah, I won't buy it. And you should not as well. But take a look anyways:
