Seit gefühlt 10 Jahren sprechen wir davon, dass wir mit #DSA und #DMA die negativen Begleiterscheinungen der großen #Plattformen in den Griff bekommen werden.
„Bald könnten hohe Strafen auf … zukommen“ hat mensch doch schon x-mal gelesen.
Aber was hat sich verändert?
Eher hat sich die Situation doch verschlimmert, vergl.

We explore the question: what does the Digital Services Act mean for online advertising?

We show that some types of ad tech companies, such as ad networks, should be considered platforms.

In Germany, 2029 is today. We have to stop the disinformation campaigns from Russia, now aligned with the USA, as much as possible. They will get worse and the stronger push for a far right agenda worldwide has already started. We need to stop the use of these social media disinformation tools and have strong regulations on their use.

People joke that Europe is too bureaucratic, maybe the GDPR and the DSA will be fundamental for us. But we need to reduce bureaucracy and reduce the growing xenophobia to attract the best brains to Europe. The UK rejoining the EU will be important.

ZenodoPolitical Biases on X before the 2025 German Federal ElectionThis study examines whether German X users would see politically balanced news feeds if they followed comparable leading politicians from each federal parliamentary party of Germany. We address this question using an algorithmic audit tool and all publicly available posts published by 436 German politicians on X. We find that the default feed of X showed more content from far-right AfD than from other political parties. We analyze potential factors influencing feed content and the resulting political non-representativeness of X. Our findings suggest that engagement measures and unknown factors related to party affiliation contribute to the overrepresentation of extremes of the German political party spectrum in the default algorithmic feed of X.

However, developers of many shady apps have found a way to stay on the App Store without having to disclose their contact information, even though they clearly should be classified as traders; as their apps generate revenue in the EU.

Apple has removed all apps from the App Store in the EU that failed to comply with the Digital Services Act (DSA) by the February 17, 2025, deadline. We haven't complied with the DSA yet. Our apps are no longer available in the EU. We apologize to our customers.

The DSA rules require Apple to verify and display trader contact information for all traders distributing apps on the App Store in the EU. ..(1/2)

From a technology perspective things will get messy in Europe, Vance has confirmed the US will go in full attack against our regulations (AI Act, DSA , DMA etc), how will we react, will we compromise or not? Big risks are involved because we are extremely dependent on US tech. The US could "shut us down" if they like...(Cloud, services etc). We should start migrating to EU tech and services ASAP and/or start to build them.
