BTW really loving the updates from #Minnesota. they showed out to #NoKings even though Indivisible cancelled the event.

this is important.

a mostly white, suburban crowd decided they didn’t need permission to protest fascism. minnesotans decided the moment was more important than the fear of fascist #MAGA #terrorism.

to those of you who carp about the comforts of the hegemonic majority: if not the hegemons, who?

this is what a point of sociological inflection looks like.

As the White House redirects counterterrorism personnel and funds toward mass deportations, a state-level scramble is on to preserve efforts once supported by Washington. The result is a patchwork approach that leaves many areas uncovered.

“Luigi Mangione could face death penalty for killing member of wrong demographic: It only counts as terrorism when the victims are rich white guys”

by Laura in Normal Island News on Substack

“Not even high school shooters are classed as terrorists in the US because a class of kids is less important than a CEO who ruthlessly exploits the working class.”

UN expert Francesca Albanese spoke to the UN Palestinian Rights Committee on 31 October 2024. She called on all States to examine their relationships and avoid being #complicit in the crime of genocide being committed by Israel on the Palestinian people in Gaza. 🧵

First Worldism—“the loss of the prerogative, only and always, to be the one who transgresses the sovereign boundaries of other states, but never to be in the position of having one’s own boundaries transgressed.”

Within the next few years, we will hear a lot of condemnation of the "coward acts of #terrorism" that will soon kill and wound people in our cities, again.

We'll see the hypocrites that have raised and nourished another wave of terrorism, with their void talk about the rule of international law, and about their being so concerned with children dying; while they were murdering that law, effortlessly, by raising their hands for their vetos, and shipping weapons to perpetrators of #genocide.

And they'll dare to talk about the next "war on terrorism", then.
